1. What does a survey involve?
A survey is where one of our gas engineers comes to your home to check the current specifications of your boiler or central heating, to make sure that we order the right parts for your system.
2. Is there a cost for the survey?
No. This is a free service.
3. Is my quote guaranteed?
Yes. When we provide a quote to our customers, we guarantee that this is the price you will pay for the work specified.
4. Will the engineer who visits be Gas Safety registered?
Absolutely, all of our engineers in London are gas safety registered and you are welcome to ask for their ID upon arrival, in fact we actively recommend it, or you can search the online Gas Safety Register to double check.
5. How can I find out more about the Gas Safety Register?
If you would like to learn more about what the Gas Safety Register is and why it's important an engineer is part of the register, you can visit https://www.gassaferegister.co.uk/. It will also give you an example of an ID badge so you know what you should look out for when requesting to see an engineer's ID.
6. Do you offer the latest models of boilers?
We certainly do, at Handy Plumbers we pride ourselves on only offering our London customers the most modern and efficient boilers and heating units available.
7. Is there a guarantee offered on boilers?
Yes, depending on the boiler you choose, you will be offered a seven or ten year guarantee for your boiler.
8. How does delivery of parts work?
Because we will most likely have to order parts for your boiler, especially if we are doing a full installation, we may need to have these delivered to your home ahead of time. Delivered parts may include boilers and cylinders, smaller, more common components will be supplied by your engineer.
9. When will these parts be delivered?
We will deliver these larger parts on the day the work is to be carried out.
10. How long will it take to have my new boiler/central heating system installed?
Typical timescales for installation are between one to two days, however this can vary depending on the requirements of the job, and any technical issues that may arise. We will always aim to give you as accurate a timescale as we can in advance, and will keep you updated in the event that a job is going to take longer than originally estimated.
11. Will there be much disruption?
At Handy Plumbers we work hard to minimise disruption as much as possible. We provide protective covering for your property while we work, as well as working very efficiently to get the job done as quickly as possible. Once we have finished our engineers will always clear away any mess that may have been created.
12. How do I use my new boiler or heating system?
